The President CONCETTA CIRIGLIANO PERNA
Concetta Cirigliano Perna has an honour's degree in Political Science ( Faculty of Law of Bari). In Italy she taught law and economics. Arrived in Australia in 1984, has been teaching Italian language and culture at Macquarie University, Sydney University and for The Five Dock Learning Centre. She is author (Uffa!) and editor of text books aimed at teaching Italian language and culture ( www.edizionifarinelli.com) which are used in schools and universities throughout the United States and Australia. A book on Italian emigration, Non Soltanto un Baule (Not only a trunk) has won her two literary prizes in Italy.
Concetta has been actively involved with the Scalabrini Villages (Nursing homes) for the last 20 years.
She is a member of the Italian Opera Foundation Committee.
She has been elected delegate from Australia of the Democratic Party for Veltroni.
She is vice-president of the Lucania Association
She writes articles for Italian newspapers and the Italian magazine (Mondo Basilicata).
Concetta is married and has two sons.
